My girlfriend is Native American and I'm basically 50/50 Black and White.

My children would be 50% Native, 25% Black, and 25% White.

They will of course have straight hair, light skin, and all that other good stuff.

But will Italy see them as immigrants, or family, since their grandmother (My mom) is part Italian, and their great-grandfather (My grandpa) is fully Italian.

Please, help me.

Genetics is not this simple, you can't predict how your babies will look exactly. They will probably look exotic to italian people, but is this a problem for you?

Pack for anything, not everything. Meaning pack the basics. Of course bring money, because you'll never know what nice things you'll find. Bring a camera to save your moments.

Since your only 16, I suggest staying always with a friend or relative who knows their way around. You never know what creeps could be lurking.

Remember: Italians LOVE americans but they love Italy even more! Haha

I met a girl online...?

I met this amazing Filipino woman online. We did a lot of web cam conversations and just basic get to know you talk. We appear to like each other a lot. I haven't ever met a girl like this as compared to other American women. Now here is the kicker, I'm deploying really really soon, she lives in the Philippines and I am in the American Military. I'm going to Afghanistan for a year and get R&R from the DoD and a free trip to almost anywhere in the world. I was thinking about going to see the Philippines or Italy before I met this girl. Now that I've met this girl I'm thinking about going to the Philippines. This girl is amazing and we both were talking some romantic and expressing hypothetical romance. I'm just a tad bit confused on how I'm supposed to feel about this. I want to see this girl really bad. There are things about this women that make me think about the perfect girl. Only part is, she doesn't live any where near me. Her modesty and shyness is intriguing, I don't think you could fake what I see in her. We said that we would write letters back and forth for the next 7 months and if we both are still interested it'd be a good idea to meet.

I say if you get a free trip, go meet her, and see what happens..either way, you can always plan a trip to Italy the next time and if you like her, you both might get to meet there too..or you may prefer to just keep going to see her..you have so many options that are good..go with how you feel..your feelings are there for a reason..

I know this is a question people ask a lot, but I really want to know.
First of all, I am a junior, Spanish but live in Italy; i don't know if this matters..
I have a 3.7 GPA, 770 in spanish SAT, 710 in french SAT and got a 156 in my PSATs at the beginning of the year, which is not ideal. I have done 100 hours of community service this year and a total of 60 as a freshman and sophomore. I play volleyball in volleyball season, which is during autumn, and have been to the germany volleyball finals two years in a row. I have done Model United Nations last year and this year and could get some decent letters of recommendation. What do you think?

If you're staying in Perugia, you certainly should see Assisi - you can see it from the old town in Perugia. The Umbria Jazz Festival is a world-class event which runs in Perugia from the 10th to the 19th of July.

Both Rome and Florence are pretty easy trips on the train and obvious choices since you've never been to either. Venice is further, but worth going to visit. I would highly recommend going for Il Redentore on the 18th of July. The fireworks over the lagoon are excellent (they start around 11 pm). The Biennale will be running this year in Venice too.

Arezzo is a short trip on the train and has an interesting old town; another good choice would be Orvieto. Siena is a great destination. Sorrento, Capri and the Amalfi Coast are always good in the summer. While you're in that area be sure to see Pompeii.

Ireland is going to be difficult if your flight doesn't go to Barcelona today (Monday). The problem is that you need a ferry and then trains to get to Rome and both are likely to be fully booked since there are many people in similar situations. There's a night train from Paris to Rome that's a good option. It's the only direct train, but you could still get to Rome with train changes if there are available places. You need to get a job now and save up. No matter what deals you find, there's no way a trip to Europe will be free. Aged 16 you are not going to find work overseas that would pay for your trip.

To be honest, I think you should plan on going in 2 years after you graduate high school. Start planning now to take the whole summer off between school and college. You will be legally adult at that point which makes a lot of things easier.

Use the time to research the places you want to visit, the cheapest airline routes (flying to London then taking Ryanair to Italy is probably cheapest), trains & buses once you arrive, volunteering projects or work camps you could join (might well be cheaper than hostels)... read guidebooks, join forums, look for organisations that can help.

Talk to your school's guidance counsellor. They might know of a good program for a summer abroad - or even a whole gap year. Consider the Peace Corps, though you can't choose where you'll end up! If you go to church, ask there about a volunteering or mission program.

You could also choose a college course that includes a semester abroad. Again, ask about it in school.

My husband and I are trying to figure out where to take our annual vacation this year -- last year we went to Cancun with our then 1 yr old, my parents and my sis / her fiance and we had a great time. We have also traveled with our first baby all over the east coast, mexico and pre-baby loved trips to Italy, Paris, Vegas, etc.

With these past trips in mind, can you please suggest a good vacation spot with kids so young and possiby with my parents along -- it's great because they can watch the kids while we enjoy a date dinner and we also have a wonderful time with my extended family... Thanks!!

Language is more of an issue than you think. I'd pick a place I could communicate in. Just having a host family that speaks english isn't really enough....unless you don't mind being surrounded by people talking that you cannot understand.... trust me it's not always fun.

Should Georgia, Romania and possibly Russia join the Six Nations (rugby)?

Georgia and Romania are amazing european teams that in mine and most peoples opinion should be allowed to join the 6 nations as they are without doubt the best european teams outside of the six nations. Georgia & Romania are regular competitors in the Rugby World Cup and usually perform quite well. Italy have proven that they can compete in the six nations by regularly beating Scotland. In my opinion to expand the sport they need to expand the six nations to at least 2 other european nations (possibly 3 teams). And Russia an emerging rugby nation who have significantly improved in the 2000s and is a country which isn't quite sure its national sport would benefit joining the 6 nations as the prospect of a major world power having Rugby its number 1 national Sport.

"Most peoples opinion" is a pretty big exaggeration. First of all none of the three are competitive with any of the existing Six Nations -- Italy included. Even Italy A handed Georgia a solid thrashing in this years IRB Cup. Yes some have improved significantly -- particularly Georgia and Russia -- but they are not there yet. And Romania has yet to recover from the collapse of their entire sporting system in the early '90s.

Along those lines, Spain has also improved a great deal -- why not include them as well. Or Portugal -- Romania barely won a squeaker against them in the last World Cup.

The other big issue is that there simply isn't time in the NH schedule for an expanded Six Nations. For example, an English professional is looking at a minimum of 22 Premiership games, 3 Anglo-Welsh games, and six Heineken Cup games, along with any additional games they might play in the various knock-out rounds. An international is also looking at the Six Nations and the mid and end-of-year tests. The schedule is already jam packed without adding two more tests.

Some people have mentioned the possibility of two tiers of European competition -- but that already exists in the various levels of the European Nations Cup. In fact there six levels below the Six Nations (ENC Divisons 1A through 2D) which already have promotion and relegation. There have been hints from the IRB that the long term plan might include promotion and relegation between the Six Nations and the ENC Division 1A, which is currently made up of Russia, Georgia, Spain, Portugal, Romania and Ukraine (Germany just got relegated and Ukraine promoted). But it won't be for a while -- none of the ENC teams are anywhere near good enough yet.
