I am going to italy this half term for a ski trip, but i'm not sure whether to ski or blade. i have already learned to ski on normal skis but i don't know if blading is different? i sure know that they would be much easier to carry and are better for doing jumps, but would i have to learn to ski all over again, and is it more expensive?

i find blades more wobbly and they are not as fast as skis. but they are smaller - easy to carry - you still need big ski boots though. personally i would go for skis, i don't think price is greater -and you wouldn't have to learn to ski again - i have done it and it is exactly the same. some people use poles others don't - personal choice - you look better without!
if you are renting you can take skis for a few days then change them at the shop for blades to try them out - it's perfectly acceptable...
